ESL EFL ENGLISH FOR CHILDREN NUMBERS 0-21 BEGINNER ENGLISH NUMBERS 0-21 TASK CARDS Files are non-editable in a zipped format. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. Perfect for developing English language skills in general, as well as for practicing and revising numbers 0-21 in English. There are 36 differentiated questions, answer key, recording sheet and number reference sheet. The questions have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling, and really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. There’s also a question card template for students to apply language creatively and practically, which is an essential aspect of successful language learning, and is also a really popular activity with my students. Task cards are really versatile too - we use them not only when we’re focusing on the target vocabulary, but throughout the year for sub lessons, as entrance and exit tickets, refreshers and free-choice learning. The questions range in complexity and challenge, ensuring a scaffolded learning experience for students. All the questions are in English, including a range of English math language. Students may not necessarily engage with that at this stage of their learning, so I use math symbols as visual clues and prompts, enabling students to infer meaning from context. This is a key language learning skill in general, which is important for students to develop as quickly as possible. The resource comprises the following non-editable files in a zipped format: 36 differentiated question cards 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Print, laminate and cut out. Laminating is definitely worth the extra prep time and expense, as they cards are far more learner-friendly, and last for absolutely years. answer recording sheet we mostly use class notebooks for recording answers, as this saves prep time and paper, though recording sheets are really useful for more formal assessment purposes. answer key question card template for students to apply their knowledge practically and creatively, which is an integral to successful language learning, and is a really popular activity too. number reference sheet Try this freebie, which is in a similar format, and will give you a good idea of the level of both language and math, and whether this kind of activity would work well for your students: ENGLISH NUMBERS 0-21 TASK CARDS FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/english-numbers-0-21-task-cards-freebie-12951949 THANKS AND ENJOY YOUR ENGLISH LESSONS!

ESL EFL ENGLISH CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES ENGLISH FOR CHILDREN BEGINNER ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING This resource consists of non-editable files in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. These English Christmas Numbers 0-31 task cards are perfect for beginner English and advanced beginner English anguage learners, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. I’ve found lesson around the Christmas period are a great time for revisiting and practicing language and structures we’ve looked at over the semester. The cards have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in English in general, and certainly in English numbers in particular. The questions range in complexity and challenge, not only in terms of calculation, but also in terms of the level of English - they are definitely aimed at advanced beginner English and students moving into intermediate English, rather than new or recent beginners. Most learners will be able to infer meaning from context and images, which have a real UK-Christmas theme, such as mince pies and Christmas crackers, and vocabulary is repeated throughout, giving learners a chance to familiarize themselves with it. Nonetheless, it can be useful to read through the questions with the whole class first to check everyone is able to access the language, and therefore the activity, successfully. Students really do benefit in terms of language learning if they have several opportunities to work with the cards, rather than simply working with them in a single lesson. The resource comprises the following: 36 differentiated question cards, 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper answer recording sheet we often also just use our class workbooks for this, as it saves on paper and prep time - I tend to use recording sheets for more formal assessment exercises answer key laminate for longevity - one answer key for each small group is sufficient - for me, answer keys are an integral element of this kind of learning activity, as they provide students with an additional opportunity to engage with language, and to develop more independence in their learning. question card template for students to apply their knowledge practically, and to create questions for each other - this is a really challenging and popular activity Have a browse in my store for more ESL EFL English Christmas activities, and a wide range of other ESL EFL English teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles and lots of freebies too. PRIMARY FRENCH FRUITS & VEGETABLES POSTERS FLASHCARDS

8 Resources
PRIMARY FRENCH FRUITS CLASSROOM DISPLAY POSTERS FLASHCARDS My younger students love to see French displays in the classroom, and they also work really well for older beginner French learners too. There are 25 fruits and 25 vegetables, definite article, feminine and masculine, singular and plural - that’s so useful as a way into the concept of gender. I tend to vary my displays quite regularly, and have different posters up at various times of the school year. We use them as speaking and pronunciation prompts, and for guessing games too. We don’t actually learn 25 fruits or vegetables at this stage, but I use a range that includes some that children may not know yet, such as starfruit and aubergines. That’s ideal for discussing healthy eating, and for generally developing children’s vocabulary in their own language too. The posters work really well as flashcards too, and they’re great for introducing and practising language with a ‘low-tech’ method, giving us all a break from the whiteboard, which children definitely enjoy! The fruits are: green apples; red apple; bananas; cherries; dates; fig; green grapes; red grapes; kiwi; lemon; mango; nectarine; olives; oranges; papaya; peach; pears; pineapple; pumpkin; raspberry; redcurrants; rhubarb; starfruit; strawberries; watermelon The vegetables are: artichoke; asparagus; beetroot; broccoli; cabbage; carrots; cauliflower; celery; corn; cucumber; eggplants/aubergines; French/green beans; garlic; leeks; lettuce; mushrooms; onions; peas; red peppers; yellow pepper; potatoes; sprouts; spinach; sweet potatoes; tomato The posters are 8.5 x 11 (A4) portrait size. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or black wave, so 100 posters in total. The fruits and vegetables are in my store separately, at £3.00 each. The files are non-editable in a zipped format. They’re copyright, all rights reserved. They may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. 400 high-frequency French adjectives, listed alphabetically English-French with gender agreement guide - a great learning support resource for GCSE French and as a refresher and vocabulary audit for A Level French students. It’s useful to give the book to advanced KS3 French students too, as it provides a language road map with learning goals, outlining the adjectives they should ideally know by a specific stage in their learning. I create a lot of language learning reference books for my languages students, they’re really popular with my students, who like to have a bank of reference resources for both initial learning and longer-term learning and revision. There are 22 pages in the book, and all 400 adjectives are listed alphabetically English-French. Each adjective is also shown in the masculine, feminine, singular and plural forms, which my students find really helpful as they begin to engage with gender agreement in French. I use the reference book for quick vocabulary quizzes too - either I or a nominated student shouts out a French or English adjective, with teams giving the corresponding French or English adjective - I’ve found this is a really successful way of avoiding more formal vocabulary tests, while still providing students with frequent opportunity to refresh and embed essential French vocabulary. The adjectives are useful for engaging with the following topics and themes: youth, identity & lifestyle : fashion : culture, customs and traditions relationships and family : technology and social media : sport, health and fitness; free time, hobbies and interests : entertainment and leisure : food and drink; France and French-speaking countries : local, national & international global areas of interest : transport : holidays, tourism and travel : environment, pollution, recycling and climate : social issues : school, college, current and future study : work experience, skills and personal qualities : employment, ambitions and career plans Have a browse in my store for more French resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. PRIMARY GERMAN KS2 GERMAN KS3 GERMAN BEGINNER GERMAN DAYS OF THE WEEK TEN DIFFERENTIATED WORD SEARCHES Files are non-editable in a zipped format; the product is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only - please read the Terms of Use carefully. Ideal for children learning German and beginner German students of all ages and stages, providing them with a great opportunity to engage with the written word in German, at the same time developing essential beginner German vocabulary. The word searches are easily differentiated: the grids have an increasing level of challenge, to ensure that all students can feel confident about their learning - and lots of chances to keep challenging themselves. The direction of the words are indicated by arrows at the top of the grid. There are 5 German to German grids, with an additional English vocabulary list to complete for extra spelling and recall practice. For extra challenge, there are 5 English to German grids, with an additional German vocabulary list to complete - that’s a really effective way of consolidating vocabulary. All the grids have a corresponding answer key, which are essential in order to maximise the learning potential of the activity. They facilitate learner independence, also giving them an additional opportunity to engage with the target language - they also genuinely enjoy assessing their own, and each others’ work. This set is in landscape format, as in my experience young beginner German students, as well as older beginner German students, really benefit from a larger font, and having the language presented in the common direction of reading in both English and German, left to right. The word searches are really versatile in the classroom, and I use them in lots of different contexts, such as starter and refresher activities, fun-time fillers, cover lessons, or free-choice activity at any time during the school year. SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS

PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS POSTERS These Spanish colours posters create an instant introduction to a range of colours in Spanish in your classroom. The posters also give the learning environment a fabulous Spanish look and feel, promoting Spanish as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of the classroom. They introduce learners to colours in Spanish from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarize themselves with both the ‘look’ of Spanish words, and how sounds are represented in the written form. The key colours are: aquamarine (blue-green); black; blue; brown (both marrón and pardo - I’ve also included castaño, as this is used to describe hair color and eyes for example, which are great topics to get learners talking in Spanish); cream (both beis and crema); green; grey; navy-blue; orange; bright pink; pink; purple; red; white; yellow. Use them as flashcards to introduce and practice language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. It doesn’t matter if this particular language doesn’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the flashcards / posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in Spanish, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates and near-cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in Spanish. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag or black wave, so 38 posters in total. Laminate the posters if possible, or print on card stock, particularly if you’re going to use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language: they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use them for years. Have a browse in my store for more Spanish flashcards / posters, and a wide range of other teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! INGLÉS ESL DAYS OF THE WEEK WORD SEARCHES

(0)
INGLÉS ENGLISH DAYS OF THE WEEK WORD SEARCHES for Spanish-speaking learners of English Sopas de letras Word searches are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in English, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches with answer keys, focusing on the days of the week in English, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. There are 5 English to English grids, labelled with Big Ben, where learners are prompted with the English words, and look for them in English in the grid. For additional consolidation, each grid also features a Spanish word list that they have to complete, as extra practice for saying and writing the days of the week together in both English and Spanish - this works really well for embedding language. There are also 5 Spanish to English grids, labelled with the Spanish flag, where the prompt words are given in Spanish, and learners have to find the English equivalent in the grid. For additional consolidation and practice in writing in English, they also complete the English word list on each page. Learners can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. There is an answer grid for each word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. Answer keys are great for helping learners develop independence in their learning, and also give them an additional opportunity to engage with the target language. The word searches are in landscape format, as this mirrors the common direction of reading from left to right in both English and Spanish, facilitating learner engagement with the activity. Word searches are really versatile - use for cover lessons, as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when you’re introducing the days of the week in English. For a real focus on this vocabulary, and to facilitate learner independence, photocopy all the grids as a workbook, and let learners simply work their way through. The workbook format is great for home learning activities too. I also create an answer key booklet - one booklet for small groups of 3 or 4 learners is sufficient. If you create workbooks and answer key booklets, these are best prepared photocopied double-sided and with a double staple on the left-hand side. This format is far more reader, writer and learner-friendly than using a single-staple in the top left-hand corner for example. Files are non-editable in a zipped format. They are copyright, all rights reserved. They may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. INGLÉS ESL NUMBERS 0-10 WORD SEARCHES

ESL EFL ENGLISH NUMBERS 0-10 for Spanish-speaking learners of English. Word searches are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in English, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches, focusing on Numbers 0-10 in English, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. There are 6 English to English grids, labelled with Big Ben, where learners are prompted with the English words, and look for them in English in the grid. For additional vocab consolidation, Grids 1-4 also feature a Spanish word list that learners have to complete, as extra practice for saying and writing the numbers together — this works really well for embedding language. Grids 5 & 6 require learners to work out what the numbers are in* English,* and write them out again in English, for additional spelling practice. There are also 4 Spanish to English grids, labelled with the Spanish flag, where the prompt words are given in Spanish, and learners have to find the English equivalent in the grid. For additional consolidation and practice in writing and spelling in English, they also complete the English word list on each page. Learners can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. There is an answer grid for each word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it! The word searches are in landscape format, as this mirrors a common direction of reading from left to right in both English and Spanish, facilitating learner engagement with the activity. There is a single grid per page, as younger learners of English as a second / subsequent or foreign language are still developing literacy skills in their first language - I’ve found too that older beginner learners benefit from very clear and accessible worksheets, definitely avoiding too much text on a single page. Use for sub lessons, as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when you’re introducing Numbers 0-10 in English. There are 3 non-editable files in a zipped format. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. Ideal multi-skill language learning activity for developing listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling skills for English language learners of all ages - in my experience, adult learners really enjoy a few competitive games of bingo too! Bingo games are really easy to differentiate, and there is a range of differentiated grid formats to choose from: 12-square grids; 30-square grids; picture only and blend of words & pictures, providing learners with a real opportunity to practise all four language skills. There are 100 grids in total, in both colour & BW. The color grids definitely look really good, but can prove expensive to prep - I have sets that I’ve laminated, and students use wipe-free pens, so that the grids can be used many times. These games are designed for players to cross off all the words or pictures on their grids in order to win the game. This set of Christmas bingo games comprises the following: 40 picture-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) You can give students a random selection of pages, with students selecting the order of grids they play from. You can also cut out the grids, and place them in a small bowl or similar object on tables. Students then select grids randomly from the bowl. For additional challenge, students can play all four grids in a single game. Depending on the size of your class, you can have several winners per game. PRIMARY ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN CHRISTMAS BINGO GAMES an ideal multi-skill language learning activity for developing listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling skills for Italian language learners of all ages - in my experience, adult learners really enjoy a few competitive games of bingo too! I’ve described the games as not grade-specific, as the general goal for me is not to learn a lot of Italian Christmas vocabulary as such, but to work quite specifically on Italian language skills development. There are 100 grids in total, in both colour & BW. The colour grids definitely look really good, but can prove expensive to prep - I have sets that I’ve laminated, and students use wipe-free pens, so that the grids can be used many times. Younger learners do tend to prefer the BW grids, taking some additional time to colour them in themselves. I often combine that activity with revision of colours, which can work really well too.
